Broker's Comments
The South Coast One Design, or SCOD, is one of those yachts that always brings a smile to my face! No surprise, really, since she was designed by Charles A Nicholson (the nephew), and she’s such a pretty boat.
Between 1955 and 1970, 106 were built and many are still sailing today, gracing the start lines of classic regattas, taking on the Round the Island Race at Cowes and starting in their own class at Cowes Week. Although they have considerable racing success including taking the top 6 places at Cowes in 1956 they are equally happy cruising along the coastlines.
This is a lovely example. She was refitted in 2010 and since then has had plenty of well deserved care and attention. She sits under her cover to keep both the exterior and interior at their best and she presents well, clean and tidy and fresh below.
A passionate class association of enthusiasts has kept the SCOD popular, and all they really want is for them to be sailed!
