Built in Rhode Island, the Pearson Yacht Company manufactured the 422 and the 424 as either a center cockpit version or an aft cockpit. This vessel is the cutter-rigged center cockpit 422. She is both beautiful and robust, and was designed by naval architect Bill Shaw for cruising with two couples aboard.
The keel is a modified fin keel design (longer than normal) with cutaway forefoot and a skeg-hung rudder. Keel ballast is 7634 LBS of lead encapsulated in fiberglass housing a deep sump.
A survey of her condition in 2011 revealed above average condition for a vessel of her age and class. She has many quality upgrades, has an above average equipment inventory and shows good past maintenance.
Bomar hatches and 16 opening portlights, all with screens.
Dimensions and capacities are not independently verified by Waterline Boats / Boatshed, and are reported from seller-supplied information and/or literature.
