Broker's Comments
Here we have one of my favourite Broads cruisers! - the ever popular Broom Skipper. This particular example is a very tidy and all original gelcoat rear galley version
The current owner of the last 2 years has nicely updated the boat with solar panels, inverter, and shorepower and she has been fully serviced. Her Boat Safety Certificate runs to late 2027 and she is a tidy well presented vessel with a lot to offer the small family.
Her hardwood folding screen appears to be in excellent order and she has a very good canopy over the cockpit which can be opened up fully and the cockpit windows and sides dropped to allow her to clear all the Broads bridges at the right tides.
The cockpit is bright and practical with split folding doors each side and a raised aft seating bench and canopy staves above. Easy battery access is found within the side step, so no need to pull up and the battery master switches are neatly on the helm side. Her batterys are kept charged by 450watts of solar panels and also a shore power with battery charger system.
Under the floor is a BMC 1.5 that appears to start and run as it should and was a replacement engine fitted while in the care of her previous owner
This bilge is clean and dry and all items for service are readily at hand.
Heading aft down the companionway you enter the large and comfortable aft cabin with galley running across the whole aft of the boat which is a lovely feature of these cracking little boats. This boat has a rea opening window which is very hand for gas locker access from inside the galley.
Her comfortable saloon converts to a good sized double when required and all her upholstery appears to be in very good order as do the original headlining.
This beautiful boat gleams in the sunshine as she is in her original gelcoat and looks stunning
With added diesel warm air heating fitted this is a very well equipped and comfortable all year cruising example and must be seen to be fully appreciated.
The current owner has ensured that she has been regularly serviced the last one being 2025 with anodes etc also being replaced at that time. Her BSS expires in December 2027
I have to say that we do see a good number of these marvelous little Brooms and this one is very much one of the better ones I have seen for a fair while. These boats are also a dream to handle and very neutral and I am certain this example will delight her new owner.
Please do note that the rev counter and oil pressure gauges are not working. There is a low oil pressure warning light that does work so these will need to be looked at if so desired. In general theses two items should be a simple and easy fix
